MITSUO Kawanishi was enthralled by Filipinos' talent and skills in the performing arts that he wanted to see the place where these group of people making waves in the entertainment circuit in his native Japan came from.
Upon his first few visits to the Philippines, he found out that there are so many kids of Japanese descent living in the metropolitan area alone, not knowing how they could come in contact with their Japanese fathers ever again.
He wanted to put up a foundation for the Japinos or Fil-Japs, but it turned out that there's already an existing organization put up for that purpose.
Then he met Wilfredo 'Wheyee' Lozada, an independent talent promoter and casting agent. The Japanese space designer got so impressed by Wheyee's simple ways and assertiveness that he decided to put up a company so Wheyee can soar higher with his innate goodness, and so they both can develop further the skills and talents of performers being sent to Japan.
Although Kawanishi was able to bring to Japan numerous celebrities from Manila (the likes of
Maui Taylor, Katya Santos, Gladys Reyes and Christopher Roxas, Aiza Seguerra, Andrew E. and Belinda Bright), he wants to fill the print and TV commercial modeling needs of his country by bringing Filipino talents there.
So, instead of the usual principal-promotions agency relationship of Japanese and Filipinos, Kawanishi opted to become an investor. Through Mr.
Mar Lopez, a businessman who also believes in Wheyee's capabilities, Kawanishi acquired a Philippine business visa. The approval of his visa led to finding a suitable place for the Kawanishi-Lozada partnership.
